Even after 7 years in America I don't seem to have uncovered all the cultural differences yet... Since it's Easter weekend I remembered Easter Sunday as a child or even teenager in my Mother's kitchen in Germany.... A colorfully decorated table would await us with fresh and deliciously smelling bread, homemade jam, sweet butter, deliciously smelling coffee, a huge and freshly cut bouquet of daffodils and... easter eggs!
Soft boiled eggs that were kept warm by wearing a little hand-crochet or hand-knitted hat. So I thought of that lovely Easter tradition my Mom had established and wanted to bring a bit of it to my new home here in California. I am lucky my husband embraces these corky traditions we have over there in "the old world". And a new tradition in our American-German household has been established! Happy Easter everyone!!
